Project title
Chromatin diseases: from basic mechanisms to therapy

2006 Bachelor Degree in plant biotechnology (98/110), Universitą di Verona,
degree thesis discussion about "transient expression of PhEXP1A in nicotiana benthamiana through PvX-based viral vector"
2009 Master Degree in Molecular Biotechnology (110/110), Universitą di Bologna,
degree thesis discussion about "role of nitric oxide in proliferation of medulloblastoma cells and in cerebellar granule precursor". Internship in Neurobiology lab of the university of Bologna.
2010 Enrolled as a PhD student in Biomedicine at PEBC

During my internship in plant genetics laboratory of the university of Verona (lasted three months) I worked with transfected plant tissues transiently expressing an important protein component of the cell wall.
My longest and more formative experience is from Master’s degree internship in Neurobiology lab of the university of Bologna where I spent more than a year trying to demonstrate the existence of an antiproliferative nitric oxide-mediated effect regarding a well characterized population of neuronal precursors, the cerebellar granule cell precursors, and a cell line of medulloblastoma, a pediatric tumor originating from these same precursor cells undergoing deregulated proliferation. It was shown that in neuroblastoma NO could reduce the proliferation acting on the N-Myc oncogene. I finally could demonstrate a NO-dependent mechanism of N-Myc downregulation, in medulloblastoma, only at transcript level.
